detox foods | protein-rich vegetables

A lot of people think that vegetables don’t contain any protein. When you start a plant-based lifestyle, among the first thing you hear is “where do you get your protein?” In fact, every whole food has protein.  Every fruit or vegetable you eat supplies your body with essential amino acids your body needs from protein.

So why do people usually think about meat, dairy, eggs when it comes to protein source? More than meat and dairy lobbying efforts, those protein sources are said to be “complete” because they contain all amino acids essential to the body.  We have long thought that for your body to make complete protein from plant-based sources, foods had to be eaten in the same meal. However recent study shows that foods with complementary amino acids can be eaten within the same day and still create “complete” protein for your body.
