From all the things we hear about health, 5 of them can really make a huge difference in your health. Try those 5 tips to achieve optimal, long-lasting health.
Give your body the most nutritious food ever
Forget all that you’ve learned about calories, fat amount, protein, calcium, and all other details about food you might have heard before. Healthy food is not much about counting calories but rather to celebrate food in its most natural form. Learn to appreciate nutritious whole foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and whole grains. Research for healthy food substitutions you can make towards a healthier lifestyle.
Don’t lose your vital energy through digestion
The more your body works hard to digest, the least energy there’s left for other things. Not only eating too much and the wrong way can leave you all blah and bloated, it also speeds up the ageing process and can damage your DNA. Eating foods that are easy to digest, in reasonable amounts, is one of the best things you can do for your body. Hard to digest foods can take up to 8 hours to metabolize compared with about 3 hours for easy to digest foods. Longer foods stay in your digestive system; greater is the risk to accumulate toxins through waste. The rule of thumb is to have meals that are ideally from only one food category at the time (ex. fruits, nuts and seeds, grains, protein, starchy vegetables, etc..) along with plenty of fresh vegetables, raw or cooked. Doing so will give your body a rest, slow down the growth of bad bacteria and yeast, avoid bloating and leave you with more energy.
Take out the garbage
If you don’t take out the garbage, waste can quickly get out of control. To ensure an optimal waste management, you must ensure that your detox paths are all clear. Taking a good care of your colon health is very important to eliminate accumulated waste and toxins. Eating foods that are easy to digest along with plenty of fiber and pure water will help your body to keep the bowels clean.
Detox your life
While most of the waste our body must detox comes from digestion, many toxins also comes from our environment and lifestyle. To truly achieve optimum health, you must also make sure to avoid taking more toxins in. Choosing organic foods, avoiding using plastic containers and bottled water, choosing natural over chemical cleaning products, ditching cosmetics and care products containing synthetic ingredients, wearing organic clothes, fighting air pollution: all of these can help you achieve a better long term health while also being beneficial for the environment.
Get moving
You can’t be truly healthy if you don’t move; that’s it, that’s all. Our body has been designed to be active. Exercising is probably one of the best things you can do for your health. It helps to detox your whole body, it fights stress, it gets your lymph moving, it makes you breathe deeply and bring oxygen to your brain, and it helps your body to sweat the toxins out. Try to do at least one hour of physical activity per day, every day. Physical activity doesn’t necessarily mean heavy weight lifting or sweating yourself out with intense cardio all the time, but you must get moving every day. Like for food, variety is something valuable. Alternate activity that requires weight lifting with cardio for best results.
