Even if each of your cells have their own “workers” that helps them to detox naturally, some organs are specially designed for waste management.
Colon
The colon is the organ best adapted for managing solid waste. Our body can contain up to 85 lbs of gut mucosa, which is responsible for filtering the nutrients from the waste. To make sure that your intestine function optimally, it is very important to eat enough fiber. However, fiber can’t perform when there’s not enough water. So it’s very important to drink sufficiently when we increase our fiber intake.
Kidneys
These twin organs are the water treatment central of your body. Their main task is to regulate your body alkalinity by eliminating liquid acid waste. To help your kidneys, you can drink plenty of water and eating water-rich alkalinizing food, like cucumber, celery or juiced sunflower seeds sprouts. The amount of water you need is based on your weight. As a rule of thumb, you need to drink half an ounce of water per lbs. As example, if you weight 125 lbs, you would need to drink 62,5 oz, or about 1,8 liter of water. This amount, of course, must be adapted to the weather and your activity level.
Liver
The liver is the main detox organ. It sorts the toxins and drives them to the appropriate organ. If one organ is overcharged, it can reorient the toxin to another organ. There are many things you can do to support your liver. One of the most important things is to avoid alcohol, fatty food and too much protein.
Lungs
Our lungs purify the air we breathe. The feed our blood with oxygen while evacuating gas produced in every of our cells. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to help our lungs. Of course, you should avoid breathing polluted air. If you live in the city, try to find a place with a better air quality to do exercises. Because if the toxins can go out, they also can go in when the air is polluted.
Lymphatic system
The lymphatic system is a vast network of evacuation tubes. Its role is to carry the waste from cells to the elimination organs. The main lymphatic glands are the appendix, the spleen, the thymus and the tonsils. Those glands can swell a bit during a strong detoxification. Regular exercises and massages help the lymphatic system. Drinking enough water also helps to dilute the toxins.
Skin
This is the organ with the biggest surface for elimination. More than controlling the temperature and moisture level of the body, skin often acts as the substitution elimination organ when other organs are overcharged. As example, when the colon is blocked, skin can eliminate the waste and side effects like acne, skin rash, psoriasis and other skin problems can occur. Regular exercises, dry brushing, massages, saunas and drinking a lot of water can help.
