While we can easily ingest more than 10 different pesticides a day when eating fruits and vegetables in the dirty dozen, there’s also many “safe” options when for some reason, whether it’s the lack of variety, availability or budget restrictions, we simply can’t buy everything organic.

Research has shown that people eating the 15 conventionally grown fruits and vegetables in the list below were ingesting less than 2 pesticides a day, compared to the 10 pesticides ingested when eating the ones from the dirty dozen.

Here’s what is called the clean 15:

#2: Avocado

#3:Corn *

#4: Pineapple

#5: Mango

#6: Asparagus

#7: Green peas

#8: Kiwi

#9: Cabbage

#10: Eggplant (Aubergine)

#11: Papaya

#12: Watermelon

#13: Broccoli

#14: Tomato

#15: Sweet potato

*While corn my not have many pesticide residue, many of the conventionally grown corn is transgenic, so you might want to buy it organic anyway.
